Terriers face Woodley Hammers in friendly

August 27th, 2008

Tilehurst Terriers will face fellow Shephards House sponsored club Woodley Hammers on Sunday; the last pre-season friendly before the second season commences.
“Its been a bit of a rushed pre-season to be honest”, admitted managing director Craig Beazley, “But things are in place to make next season’s a bit more exciting!”
Terriers are already scheduled to visit Dorset club Poole Quay in August next year… but will now face another opponent away from home, should talks continue. Terriers will travel to Merseyside to face semi-professional club Ellesmere Port FC. A short trip to face Oxford United is also in sights.

Terriers may swoop for Northstar pair

August 22nd, 2008

Tilehurst Terriers may swoop for Northstar Wanderers pair Chris Cauldrey & Micky Webb. There have been rumours regarding the Jack Taylor League Club.
Terriers Director of Football told TTFC’s official site, “They are one of our closest teams… and no doubt if there is any problems with the club folding, we will help them. However these two players are two we have our eyes on”.

Cauldrey has made one appearance for Terriers in the 4-2 friendly defeat to Forest in 2007, when his future was undecided. He is an excellent goalkeeper, however he experienced an awful injury at the start of the 2006/07 campaign with Northstar kept him out for much of that campaign. Despite his future being unclear, he opted to stay at Northstar and helped to them to an excellent finish. He played against Terriers in the three defeats by the Woodley club - but could be tempted to join up with the East Park Farm club now. Webb is Northstar’s captain and a versatile 33 year old. He has played for many Reading clubs, and has been at the Stars 5 seasons. He scored against Terriers last season, but could well become Terriers new captain, should Graham want to concentrate on his role as assistant manager.
Terriers former manager Craig Beazley tried to sign Webb last season, however Webb also opted to stay with the high flying Northstar team
